The Cervex-Brush®

The Cervex-Brush® enables simultaneous collection of ectocervical, endocervical and transformation-zone cells with a single device. The brush is made up of well-defined semi-circular soft, flexible hairs for the optimal sample collection. The Cervex-Brush® can be used for HPV testing, conventional cytology and liquid-based cytology. The Anex® Brush

The Cervex-Brush® Combi

he Cervex-Brush® Combi enables simultaneous collection of cells of the ectocervix, endocervix and transformation-zone in a single sample without bleeding or pain. The Cervex-Brush® Combi is an improvement over the regular Cervex-Brush® as it collects 2-3 times more endocervical cells with only 2 clockwise rotations on the cervical os. How It Works: Integration with Liqui-PREP® and Rovers Devices
- Sample Collection
Using Rovers’ Evalyn Brush (for HPV self-collection) or Orcellex Brush (for oral cytology collection) or the Rovers Cervex-Brush® (For cervical cytology collection) the healthcare professional or patient collects cellular samples from the target area (oral or cervical). These brushes are designed to capture high-quality specimens with minimal discomfort. - Preservation
After collection, the brush head is detached and placed directly into the Liqui-PREP® preservative vial. The preservative stabilizes the cells, preventing degradation and ensuring they remain in optimal condition for transport and processing. - Sample Processing
In the lab, the Liqui-PREP® processing kit is used to prepare the specimen for analysis. The system ensures consistent cell dispersion on microscope slides, enhancing the quality and accuracy of diagnostic results. - Cytology and HPV Testing
For cytology testing, the preserved sample is processed and the slide is stained and examined for cellular abnormalities, supporting early diagnosis of diseases such as cancer. In HPV testing, the Evalyn Brush collects cells that can be tested for the presence of high-risk HPV strains, providing a critical tool for preventive screening.
